Running Your Home Like A Cozy Bed & Breakfast Or The Chicest Hotel

I love running my home like a cozy bed-and-breakfast or a chic hotel. I have stayed in all types of places, including Airbnbs, hotels (middle- and high-end), cabins, and other cozy spaces.

When we travel to a cozy lodging spot, we often enjoy the fluffy white towels, fully stocked coffee bar, and the cozy touches that exude warmth and rest. The scents, textures, and overall feel of the place draw us in and make us feel right at home. Even the artwork on the walls can draw us in and make us feel something. Home is a place where you spend most of your time, so here are some ways I run my home like a cozy bed and breakfast (some of the links below are affiliate links):

• Fluffy white towels that I roll up and stick in my linen closet-these are a great size.

• Standing decorative bowls in the bathrooms to house towels, soaps, and extras.

• Run a waterless diffuser with this “Hotel” scent that smells divine.

• Fully stocked coffee bar with custom cup stickers I designed and a “house coffee menu” I change seasonally (as pictured below)

• Keep the house tidy & clean by doing the following every day: vacuum/sweep high-traffic areas, clean the kitchen, run a load of clothes/towels, make beds, open blinds/curtains, and keep areas tidy. You can get a free copy of my checklist over on my website.

• Play a relaxing playlist, such as jazz or one of the many hotel lobby playlists on Spotify. I also love turning on our record player and listening to all the thrifted records I have found.

• Sturdy dinner plates-I love the red and white toile dishes that my Nana gave me or my blue and white dishes, but I also love my sturdy, white dinner plates that I found at Target. They are inexpensive, but they are thick and look like hotel tableware. You can’t beat all-white dinnerware!

• Beautiful art and decor throughout the house-I love a collected home. Color. Texture. Warmth. Unique pieces. Beautiful paintings on the wall. Give me all of it. I think every home should be unique to those who live within its four walls. Most of the items I have found for my home have been from thrift stores, antique stores, big-box decor stores, and sometimes yard sales.

• Every room needs a cozy chair, a warm blanket, a good lamp, a pretty piece of art, and a good cup of coffee or tea.
